Welcome to APA Pickleball

The Amateur Pickleball Association (APA) proudly supports the USA Pickleball Association (USA Pickleball), “the national governing body for the sport of pickleball in the US” and provider of official rules for players and events across the country.  The APA echos the mission of USA Pickleball with a goal of promoting “the development and growth of pickleball in the United State and its territories” by focusing primarly on the youth, young adult and amateur side of the sport.  You’ll find events for participants 8-18U, current college students and those interested in “open” events (by skill level) at locations around the country.

APA Pickleball News

5/9/2022: Weather in April pushed the Wisconsin Amateur Open back to May 7 where we experienced blue skies, no wind issues and a perfect weather setting for all participants.  Next up…U of Minnesota and George Mason University (GMU making up an event from last weekend moved due to Spring weather issues as well).

4/14/2022: We are 2 days from the Wisconsin Amateur Open at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where we are seeing some really cold temps for early Saturday (one day event) start times.  We are working on an indoor option if the weather remains as is and the courts are deemed unplayable due to icy conditions.  Follow us on Instagram @APATournaments for updated info.

4/10/2022: The Northern VA Amateur Open at George Mason University is now wrapped up.  Chilly temps but some solid pickleball player for a number of players this weekend.  Had some small delivery issues caused by recent troubles at major hubs but we will get our Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to the winners!  Congrats to all and big thanks for all the help when rain hit Friday evening for Saturday play to get going after a short delay.

3/6/2022: That’s a wrap on the SoCal Amateur Open at USC! Nearly 100 participants came out this weekend for some amazing weather, despite some quick rain at the end of the day Saturday.  Congrats to all the winners and special thanks to The Pickleball Exchange for awards for the those placing Gold, Silver or Bronze during matches!

2/3/2022: We made it on the Pickleball Fire Podcast with Lynn Cherry.  Check out the full episode HERE.

What is Pickleball?

Fun, social and friendly. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

About APA Pickleball

The Amateur Pickleball Association and APA Tournaments run youth (8-18U), a “Collegiate Series” (current college students), and an open series (by skill level) of pickleball events around the country. These events are hosted at NCAA varsity tennis facilities, in most cases, and destination tennis/pickleball venues.

APA events follow the USA Pickleball Association rules and guidelines for play as USA Pickleball is the national governing body for the sport. The format for each event may differ from location to location but will generally include “instruction” for the entry level divisions and competitive tournament play.

Check out the event details page for each posted event for more additional information.
