The SoCal Amateur Open @ USC
The next Amateur Pickleball Association Tournament is coming up fast! The SoCal Amateur Open tournament returns in 2023 and will be held at USC on April 8th at David X. Marks Tennis Stadium. This event is open to all levels of play from Juniors, Collegiate, and Open Series participants from 3.0-5.0 competing in singles, doubles and mixed doubles play. This tournament will feature round-robin play, followed by medal/bracket play, with games to 11, win by 2 during round-robin and medal matches going to 15, win by 2. All teams/players will compete in a minimum of 5 games during each event they register to compete in. Sign up for this tournament now to save your spot. We hope to see you there!
Registration Rates – Early Bird $65 for first event, $30 for second event, $15 for third event available until March 3rd. $15 increase on first event at that time.
Schedule – this is a one day event will all divisions and matches taking place on Saturday April 8th (Men’s/Women’s Doubles followed by Mixed Doubles followed by Singles)
Ball – we will be using the CORE bright yellow ball, please refrain from wearing bright yellow attire during matches
Registration UPDATE (3/31/23 – 8:35PM) – we are only taking registration for the following events as we are now at capacity in all posted events. Please do NOT submit registration unless you are doing so for one of the following categories.
Men’s Doubles 4.5 – 1 player
Women’s Doubles 3.5 – 1 player
Men’s 4.0-4.5 Singles – 1 player
Women’s Singles 3.0 – 3 players
Women’s Singles 3.5-4.0 – 1 player
Mixed Doubles 3.0 – 1 FEMALE player
Mixed Doubles 3.5 – 1 team

Event Format:
– This event is open to all skill levels as we will set matches with “like abilities” within each division.
– Select the appropriate Skill Rating during registration so we can match play accordingly.
– Exact format is dictated by attendance with expectations having Round-Robin match play followed by bracket play for all participants.
– Championship brackets will include awards for participants finishing 1st-3rd within their division.
– No partner? No problem…we will set partners for matches based on common skill level. List your preferred partner during registration or indicate you “need” a partner assigned.
– Complete schedule/draw will be released the Tuesday/Wednesday prior to the start of the event with event communications started 12-14 days prior to the start of the event.
— This is a one-day event with all matches taking place on Saturday. We will generally kick off with Men’s/Women’s Doubles in the AM, Singles to follow, and Mixed Doubles to wrap up.
